Arrival & stay
Even if the irrationalities and tangles of the “Salzufler Unterwelt” can cause confusion and guesswork: Don’t worry about your arrival. Our facilities are located beneath the train station of Bad Salzuflen in the vaulted cellars – so that it is located centrally in the city and easily accessible by bus and train.
Arrival by train: The RB72 from the directions Herford and Paderborn / Altenbeken drops you off right in front of our entrance. You can enter the “Unterwelt” via a staircase which is right by the tracks. Many long-distance trains stop in Herford, from there it is just one station until you arrive.
Arrival by bus: Just next to the train station building there is a bus stop. The bus line 433 stops here, which connects Herford and Bad Salzuflen, as does the city bus line 943, which connects the Ziegelstraße and Wüsten.
Many other city bus lines, with which you can travel all over the city, stop at the transit bus station ZOB at “Ostertor” only 10 walking minutes away from the train station building. The bus lines 350 (Bielefeld – Bad Salzuflen), 349 (Oerlinghausen – Bad Salzuflen), 934 (Leopoldshöhe –Bad Salzuflen) and the 963 (Lemgo – Bad Salzuflen) stop here.
Directions from Lemgo: The easiest way to get from Lemgo to us is following the “Ostwestfalenstraße”. You take the exit at the exhibition centre to “Bad Salzuflen-Holzhausen”. Follow the “Zubringer” (B239) until the 4th traffic light (not counting the fire department traffic light), where you take a right turn into “Werler Str.” to Bad Salzuflen. At the intersection to “Bahnhofstraße” you take another right turn. After about 350 meters you reach the “Salzufler Unterwelt”. It is located beneath the train station building on your right side.
Directions from Bielefeld: The best way to reach us from Bielefeld is following the “Eckendorfer Straße” until “Altenhagener Straße”. Via the “Ostwestfalenstraße” you can reach the A2. Take the first exit and follow the road “Am Zubringer” (B239) until the second traffic light, where you take a left turn into “Werler Straße”. At the intersection to “Bahnhofstraße” make a right turn. After about 350 meters you reach the “Salzufler Unterwelt”. It is located beneath the train station building on your right side.
Directions from Herford: The easiest way to reach us from Herford is via “Salzufler Straße”. The street first changes name into “Herforder Straße” and then into “Bahnhofstraße” after the intersection “Werler Straße”. After about 350 meters you reach the “Salzufler Unterwelt”. It is located beneath the train station building on your right side.
Parking
Right next to the train station building, where the Salzufler Unterwelt ist located, there is free parking available for you.
Entrance
You enter our vaulted cellars through a door at the backside of the train station building (right by the tracks).
